Practice Set-up (from commencement to completion)
This service is intended so that the doctor will be able to walk into the practice and commence consulting. We can work within a budget and develop the practice specifically to your requirements. These are the areas included in the consultancy:
* Advice in the design of the practice (Under the Workplace Health & Safety Requirements and Accreditation standards)
* Prepare the list of recommended licences and arrange for the lodgement of these licences
* Arrange staff recruitment, training, rosters, contracts, (with job descriptions) and negotiate rate of pay (as per award)
* Contracts and/or agreements for the doctors
* Provide information on the hire purchase for the equipment, fixture and/or fittings (if applicable)

Financial Setup

Goodwill Appraisal

An AMA Services Queensland consultant will provide a Goodwill Appraisal based upon Capitalisation of Maintainable Earnings. In other words the profit of the practice. The calculation requires information on revenue, costs, equipment, position of the practice, practice fees, management etc.

Please note if a goodwill appraisal is required, an assessment of equipment, fixtures and fittings is required for the calculation.

Computer Setup and Advice
An AMA Services Queensland consultant will provide the following service in relation to Computer Set-up:

Development of a Technology Strategy Plan.

The Technology Strategy Plan provides a practice with an understanding of where they are going with their information systems over the next 12 months to 2 years. It provides an analysis of:

• The current system and the deficiencies that it may have.
• The training that is required to ensure that all users are getting the most from the systems and a plan for     providing this training.
• How new technology can be applied to the practice to address real business issues.
• How the Internet can be used effectively by the practice.

Development of an Operations Manual

The Operations manual details how the computer systems should be run and more importantly how they should be maintained. Typically this information is kept in the heads of a few people and is not available to the right people at the right time. The operations manual resides onsite and contains:

• The correct and verified process for creating reliable backups of the system
• The correct and verified process for recovering these backups
• Most backups are never tested to determine if they are in fact useful
• The virus protection scheme and the process of managing it
• Managing and maintaining the computers, printers and other peripheral equipment
• Software license management and maintenance
