BSBMED201A  Use basic medical terminology
Covers understanding and responding to instructions, carrying out routine tasks and communicating with a range of internal/external clients in a Medical Office, using appropriate basic medical terminology.

BSBMED302B Prepare and process medical accounts
Covers providing information to patients regarding fee structures, processing referrals, preparing and processing medical accounts for a range of patients

BSBMED305B Apply the principles of confidentiality, privacy and security within the medical environment
Specifies the outcomes required to apply principles and requirements relating to confidentiality, privacy and security to work within the medical environment

  • 2 day Program Fee: $600 (GST exempt)
  • Full catering provided
  • Course materials provided

Workshop programs are FREE for participants enrolled in relevant full qualification programs – 5 % discount for employees of AMA(Q) members.

The Health and Communtiy Services Sectors are a main employer or receptionists and adminstrative roles, with over approximately 60 000 people nationally engaged as receptionists in these sectors. Job prospects are good, with forecast 6% jobs growth over the next five years.

The Health Training Solutions initiative offers the Certificate II in Health Support Services (HLT21207) as an entry level qualification into the career framework and also as a multipurpose qualification for all health support employees who may specialise in later job roles.

The Certificate II in Health Support Services has 12 units to complete the full qualification in the Health Administration stream, and topics covered include:

  • Communication

All topics are also available as stand alone modules for private participants. A range of alternative electives are also available for participants interested in other support streams in hospital, aged care and community care settings.

The Health Training Solutions initiative offers the Certificate III in Health Support Services as an experienced level qualification in the career framework and also as a multipurpose qualification for all health support employees who may specialise in later job roles. Job prospects are moderate, with forecast 3.5% jobs growth over the next five years.

The initiative also offers the Certificate III in Health Administration qualification specifically for administrative personnel in the health and community services sector.

  • Responding to Challenging Behaviour
  • Time Management
  • Medical Terminology
  • Report Writing
  • Cultural Diversity

The initiative also offers the Certificate IV in Health Supervision (HLT40407) as a senior experienced level qualification in the career framework for participants who currently have, or who wish to move into team leader & management roles supervising staff and operations. Job prospects are very good, with forecast 19% jobs growth over the next five years.

All topics are also available as standalone modules for private participants. 

The Certificate IV in Health Administration / Health Supervision programs may be available through the Australian Apprenticeships program for eligible participants, providing support for employers whose eligible employees undertake the programs.

Job prospects are very good, with forecast 19% jobs growth over the next five years.

The Health Training Solutions initiative offers the Diploma of Practice Management (HLT52007) as a management level qualification in the career framework for participants who currently have, or who wish to move into management roles of staff and operations.

 The Diploma qualification has 16 units to complete the full qualification and topics covered include:
