The Health and Community Services Sectors are a large employer of typical adminstrative roles, with over approximately 20 000 people nationally engaged as administrators and clerks in these sectors. Job prospects are moderate, with forecast 3.5% jobs growth over the next five years.

The Health Training Solutions initiative offers the Certificate III in Health Support Services as an experienced level qualification in the career framework and also as a multipurpose qualification for all health support employees who may specialise in later job roles.

The initiative also offers the Certificate III in Health Administration qualification specifically for administrative personnel in the health and community services sector.

The Certificate III in Health Support Services program is available through the Australian Apprenticeships program for eligible participants, providing support for employers whose eligible employees undertake the programs.

The Certificate IV qualification has 15 units to complete the full qualification in the Health Administration stream, and topics covered include:

The Health Training Solutions initiative offers the Diploma of Practice Management (HLT52007) as a management level qualification in the career framework for participants who currently have, or who wish to move into management roles of staff and operations.

 The Diploma qualification has 16 units to complete the full qualification and topics covered include:

Our Senior First Aid level program is a fast track course, comprising precourse reading and a ‘complete at your own pace’ skills questionnaire as well as a 1 day in-class session focusing on practical outcomes. Participants will receive the following:

Logos

The Medical Reception Course is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare job seekers for employment as Medical Receptionists.

On successful completion of the full course participants will have obtained a Statement of Attainment towards a nationally recognised qualification and can further enhance their career by completing the Certificate III in Business Administration (Medical) BSB31107 if desired.

  • BSBMED301B - Interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately
  • BSBMED302B - Prepare and process medical accounts
  • BSBMED303B - Maintain patient records
  • BSBMED305B - Apply the principles of confidentiality, privacy and security within the medical environment.

Where necessary, arrangements will be made for participants requiring language, literacy and numeracy assistance. Client support, welfare and guidance services are available where appropriate.

Options are available for students not wishing to complete the full program.
